Pastor Hector Vicenty Jr. was born in Pennsylvania Hospital and raised in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. His journey took him to Puerto Rico for high school before returning to Philadelphia to complete his college education at La Salle University.
Although he grew up in church, Pastor Hector struggled to find it appealing due to the shortcomings he witnessed in people’s treatment of one another. With a rebellious heart, he found himself on a path that nearly led to jail. But through the unwavering prayers of his parents and a life-changing encounter with God, he was given a second chance—an opportunity to experience God's love and redemption in a profound way.
For over 15 years, he was an active part of a church community in North Philadelphia, where he was mentored, trained, and equipped for ministry. That season of preparation led him to answer the call to establish The Way Church, a thriving faith community in South Philadelphia.
Today, Pastor Hector leads with a heart for the city, a passion for God’s truth, and a vision to build a church where people from all walks of life can encounter Jesus, experience transformation, and find a true sense of belonging.
